Out of this World

We created these planet cakes for a space-themed birthday party. One of the birthday girls is an ET fan, so we included him riding WAY farther out than the moon... He made it all the way to Uranus. And we also included a tiny Pluto (pictured on a board with Venus)-- just because we still love it. I learned to remember the order of the planets by saying, "My Very Elegant Mother Just Showed Us Nine Planets." Guess that won't work anymore! Any suggestions for a new sentence?

50 Minis

We think mini cupcakes are the perfect treat to celebrate ANY occasion. We added two here to make an even 50, in honor of a special 50th birthday.

Back on the Job

We seem to find ourselves working at lots of construction sites... We love making these cakes, mostly because of the chocolate rocks!

Giraffic Jam

Big Sister Kyra and her mom are celebrating the impending arrival of a new baby... These happy giraffes (carrot cake with cream cheese frosting) are doing their part to help!

Pi Day

In honor of March 14 (a day early), my class celebrated Pi Day by drawing perfect circles, writing Pi-kus and arranging cupcakes in the correct order to show the first 25 digits of pi. Here are the cupcakes about to be eaten (in 3 minutes and 14 seconds, if possible). I promised the kids I'd get them on our blog somehow... So here you go. Hi, Room 116!

When Pigs Fly

We love how particular kids can be, even at 2 years old! This birthday girl has a particular fondness for blue pigs. That's right-- not pink, but blue! She also likes chocolate, so we have this happy pig taking a delicious chocolate mud bath.
