Strange Combinations

Every so often, we find ourselves making a cake that combines two themes that you'd never imagine could go together (see below for our penguin on American Idol). This cake is for two different people-- with two different hobbies. Luckily they didn't want two different flavors of cake! Art.com

These cupcakes were made for an Art.com marketing meeting. We loved incorporating their colors and design into our treats.

Holiday Mini Cupcakes

We made these cupcakes for a preschool fundraiser, and they went like hot cakes! We had green tea with cream cheese frosting, mocha with espresso frosting and chocolate covered espresso beans, chocolate with peppermint frosting and mints, and gingerbread with cream cheese frosting and gingerbread cookies. These would be great for a holiday buffet or a holiday work party!

5-4-3-2-1... Blast off!

This Buzz Lightyear-inspired rocket ship was made using two layers of chocolate cake and LOTS of frosting for the smoke and flames. We made the fins out of fondant, which were then painted silver... Up, up and away!

If the shoe fits...

This 4-layer white cake with strawberry filling houses Cinderella, Prince Charming, and the Fairy Godmother-- each peeking out a window. We were happy that gravity didn't take over and that there was extra strawberry filling!
